Nuna Baby Essentials supports Bison Athletics with $1 million for Burr Gymnasium upgrades


WASHINGTON –Nuna Baby Essentials Inc. donates $1 million to Howard University Athletics to support women’s and men’s basketball teams. Nuna’s donation is for the renovation of the coaches’ offices and locker rooms at the Burr Gymnasium.

Their generous contributions have contributed to the overall success and well-being of our student-athletes.

This donation continues the partnership established in 2021 between Howard and Nuna.

The agreement calls for the upgrades to be completed by the end of the 2022-2023 academic year, if possible. It also calls for placing Nuna logos on the Burr Gymnasium floor and on the basketball backboards and scoreboard, and other considerations.

Last season, the Bison women’s team went 21-10 and made it to the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament, its first appearance in the event since 2001. The team Men’s Bison went 16-13 and reached the middle of the Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Quarterfinals last season and entered the inaugural NBA HBCU All-Star Classic in Cleveland, beating Morgan State.
